Entry 1: The Grand Canyon – Trùng Trùng Điệp Điệp
Photographed on June 21, 2011 & June 17, 2014
The Grand Canyon is a mile-deep canyon (1,6 km). The average distance across the canyon is only 10 miles (16 km), but it takes 5 hours to drive the 215 miles (346 km) between the park’s South Rim Village and the North Rim Village.
I’ve been to Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim) twice. The first time was in June 2011 and the second visit was in June 2014. My plan for the third visit to the Grand Canyon is to hike down to the bottom of the South Rim. The South Kaibab Trail is approximately 6.8 miles (average hiking time is 3-4 hours down) and Bright Angel Trail is approximately 9.3 miles (average hiking time down is 4-6 hours, average hiking time up is 6-10 hours).
